Frequently asked questions

Can I connect several mailboxes at once? Yes. Repeat “Add channel” as many times as mailboxes you need — each one is an independent instance, with its own agent and its own owners (section 2).

Can the agent send emails that aren’t replies, like a campaign? No. The Email channel only replies to emails that arrive at that mailbox; it isn’t a bulk-sending channel. Marketing campaigns use WhatsApp (Manual 27 · Marketing).

What happens if two people on my team reply to the same email at once, one from Conversations and another from the mail client itself? Both replies go out normally — the system doesn’t lock the mailbox. To avoid duplicates, decide within your team whether that mailbox is handled only from Conversations or also from the usual mail client.

Do I have to forward old emails for the agent to see them? No. The channel starts processing emails that arrive from the moment it’s connected on; it doesn’t review the mailbox’s history backward.

Can I use my normal Gmail account password? No, if you have two-step verification on with Google (the usual case): you need a specific app password (section 5). Without two-step verification, Google likewise requires turning on “less secure app access” or, better, turning it on and using an app password — it’s the recommended route and the only one Google’s own help still keeps active today.

Can I restrict which agent sees this mailbox? The agent assigned to the channel (section 8) is who handles those conversations; if you also want to narrow which resources that agent sees (documents, templates…), use the tags from Manual 23 · AI agents, section 6 — it’s independent from the channel.
