| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Connected | The mailbox is active: the agent checks it and replies normally. |
| Disconnected | The channel exists but isn’t linked to any mailbox, or you disconnected it yourself. |
| Error | The last attempt to access the mailbox failed — rotated credentials, server down, etc. |
When a connected mailbox goes into Error (for example, because you changed the password with your provider without updating it here), this happens automatically, with nothing for you to do:
- A notice to that channel’s owners (or to the whole team if you didn’t assign any — Manual 24, section 10): it arrives at the Platform’s bell and, on top of that, by email to each owner, with the failure’s reason.
- The channel’s panel shows the specific error message, prefixed with “Last sync with error:”.
- It keeps trying on its own: a mailbox in Error still gets checked on every following sweep (section 9). If the problem resolves itself — for example, a one-off outage on your provider’s server — the channel goes back to Connected with nothing for you to touch.
Note — When you do need to act
If the error is caused by a changed credential (rotated password, expired token), the channel will stay in Error indefinitely until you open Reconfigure credentials (section 11), test the connection with the new data, and save again. The system can’t guess your new password for you.
