Changing plan

Requirements: administrator role. The full procedure — comparing plans, changing plan, managing your payment method and cancelling — is in Manual 34 · Billing, section 2; here we only explain its relationship with capabilities.

Note — No impact preview when you change plan yourself

Unlike when your provider edits your contract (section 6.2, where they DO see a preview of how many objects it would affect), changing plan yourself doesn’t show you in advance what would go out of plan — you’ll see it, if it applies, as the section 4 notice on the corresponding screen right after confirming the change. No object is ever deleted; you decide calmly what to keep.

7.1 If your provider manages your contract directly

Section titled “7.1 If your provider manages your contract directly”

Besides the self-service option above, your provider can adjust your contract’s capabilities directly (for example, after resolving a request from section 5, or for a custom deal) — it shows up as “Custom plan” on your Billing card, with the exact detail in Manual 34, section 2. Changes your provider makes this way look exactly the same in your counters and notices as a normal plan change — this screen’s mechanism is the same no matter where the adjustment came from.
