By connecting Salesforce Sales Cloud, your agent can **sync leads** from your conversations with your Salesforce org, and you gain tools for the agent to **look up and write to Salesforce while chatting** with a customer — for example, checking whether a lead with that email already exists before creating a duplicate.

> **Note — Always `Lead`, never `Contact` or `Opportunity`**
>
> This integration works in v1 exclusively on Salesforce's `Lead` object: it creates and updates leads, and moves their `Status` field. It never converts the lead to `Contact` nor touches `Opportunity` — that conversion is yours to decide, inside your own Salesforce, whenever it's appropriate.

This integration activates two independent surfaces, explained in detail in sections 5 and 7:

- **Three panel actions** (section 5) — things that happen in the background when something occurs on your Platform: a new lead, a stage change, a resolved conversation.
- **Five AI agent tools** (section 7) — operations the agent can invoke on its own during a conversation (search, look up, create or update a lead, add a note).

Both surfaces are born **off** until you turn them on.
